Belt Buckle for GWB

This is a buckle I had the honor of both making and presenting to President George W. Bush in 2009.  It was hand engraved from a 1/8" thick chunk of solid sterling silver,  Everything was relief engraved, nothing additional was added on.  The theme was taken from Mr. Bush's favorite painting entitled "A Charge to Keep" by W.H.D. Koerner, painted in 1916.  It took me right at two months & around 400 hours to complete.

A special bracelet for a special gal

A client commissioned this one for his wife, a public school principal.  I used a cast ranger badge made by my friend Jim Chal of Waring, Texas and then hand engraved it and the silver bracelet.  I used the 123,ABC theme since she is in education.

Jigsaw puzzle Engraffiti

These are pretty cool....I call this design jigsaw puzzle Engraffiti.  The name "Engraffiti" is derived from graffiti and engraving.  I decided to name it so because it looked to me like graffiti done by an engraver, you know, really random patterns all over the place & such.  They are made by randomly forging the bracelet blank onto hand engraved steel dies.  Over that pattern I have hand engraved the jigsaw puzzle pattern.  The one that has the piece waiting to be put into place was a gift for my wife on our 30th anniversary & is not for sale.  The other two are available.

Lost Maples Bracelet and Pendant

Here's a set I did after a visit to the Lost Maples Natural area in Central Texas.  It is made of silver & the leaves are various shades of gold.  I made the die for the leaves and then stamped each one, cut them out with a jewelers saw and soldered them in place.  I ended up with a few more than I needed for the bracelet so, I decided to make the pendant.  Sold the bracelet...still have the pendant!  (It is available for $1,200.00)

Copper Barbwire

This one is kind of radical...it is a 1" wide copper barbwire cuff.  Though it looks like it would snag, the points are rounded enough not to.  This one is available.

Thanks for stopping by. I am using this space to share some of the work I do....custom hand engraving. For most of the work I use the old-school method of hammer and chisel....not because I think it is the best method but simply because I have spent the last 31 years learning how to do it that way. I also use air-assist tools for some things and am incorporating that method into my bag of tricks. The ultimate goal being to create one of a kind engravings for the discriminating collector/aficionado. Several years ago I began to make cuff bracelets & have gotten pretty creative in that area. I use heavy (14 gauge) silver and also 14 gauge copper for my bracelets. Some are totally hand engraved and others are hammered with various textures...they are all different & completely done by hand!
